About Angel
Born in Mexico City and with an early passion for film, I studied screenwriting and film production in Vancouver and Madrid.
In 2008, I wrote the thriller “Bajo la sal” (Under the Salt, 2008), produced by Warner Bros Mexico.
In 2007, I wrote the remake of the classic horror movie “Hasta el viento tiene miedo” (Even the Wind is Afraid) by famed author Carlos Enrique Taboada, and in 2016 I adapted his unpublished story “Jiron de niebla” (Shreds of Fog), for which I received an Ariel nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
In 2015, I co-wrote the acclaimed musical comedy “Eddie Reynolds y los Ángeles de Acero”. Also, I wrote the remakes of the successful Chilean films “Qué pena tu vida” (F*ck my Life, 2016), “Una mujer sin filtro” (An Unfiltered Woman, 2018), and “En las buenas y en las malas” (For Better of for Worse, 2019).
My television credits include the series “El Pantera” (Televisa, 2007) and “Enemigo íntimo” (Telemundo, 2018).
In 2019, I was selected to participate in the Ibermedia Latin American Development Program with the screenplay “Los hijos de la noche”, and in 2021 I was selected by Filmarket Hub to be part of the Latam Online Pitchbox with the project “La madre de las serpientes”.
Recently, I wrote the animated film “Las Leyendas: El Origen” (2022), and the comedy movie “Lecciones para canallas” (in postproduction).

Jirón de Niebla (Shred of Fog) (

Film by Hilo Negro Films / Julio César Estrada Writer Based on the original idea of director Carlos Enrique Taboada, Jirón de Niebla tells the story of Daniel, who after witnessing his mother's suicide when he was very young, is adopted by his aunt, an ultra-conservative woman with strict rules, who takes out on the orphan all the hatred and resentment she accumulated against his dead sister. After years of mistreatment, the young man ends up murdering his guardian in a fit of rage. However, just when he thinks he will have a normal life, one day he begins to receive unexpected messages signed by his aunt, assuring him that she will return soon. -
