Abhi Kumar is driven by the desire to tell unique and inspiring stories across multiple mediums. While studying in the US his play, End of the Rainbow, won the University of Michigan’s prestigious Hopwood Award for creative writing. Abhi became a regular contributor at the Bloomington Playwrights Project where several of his plays were staged.
Upon returning to Singapore, he wrote for local TV showcasing his ability to write for different audiences by working on multiple sitcoms and docudramas for Mediacorp.
As co-founder of his own studio, Warrior9, Abhi wrote and directed multiple short films. He also wrote and directed a unique sci-fi animated series in virtual reality called The PhoenIX. The pilot episode premiered at the Cannes Film Festival’s Next VR showcase in 2017 and the series was also at the Busan International Film Festival’s VR showcase in 2019.
Abhi continues to write and seeks to showcase his stories across as many storytelling mediums as possible.
