Expand commentHey Dan. That is a great question with so many variables. In short, as I’m sure you know every deal is negotiable and different. I cannot say what we get due to deals having confidentiality clauses per the streamers as well as do our investor agreements where we cannot discuss numbers, but they pay enough to keep our investors coming back again and again, but even better, they also allow us to hold worldwide rights to sell our titles abroad. Now, when it comes to how (when) they pay out… again it can be negotiable but some pay a flat fee with multiple installments over 2 years, while many pay it in three portions, ie 40% upon signing, 40% upon delivery of all approved/accepted deliverables and the last 20% on or before the “street date” aka release date on the platform. Those payments often come slower than you’d expect once you deliver and they always blame it on “we have a zillion films we’re dealing with, sorry stand by” or they just plain ole drag ass. Never get your backers excited thinking “the check is in the mail” with the signature on a deal or the Fed Ex tracking number showing as the hard drive being received. Things take time and if you’re close to end of year, they love to split that up to make sure some payments fall intone year and some into the next. Always best to have your elements ready asap so you can aim to get that 80% close together and fast to keep investors happy. Hope that helps answer your question. All the best.

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!
RB

Like something’s chasing me, and the forest has entangled and trapped me. So panicked and afraid.

Ominous. To me, it also looks like a brain - so if your screenplay has some psychological horror elements to it - all the more fitting.

I love the image, it's creepy and a bit unsettling... probably not something I'd watch only because I get easily creeped out!
