The youngest of 8, Candice was an extrovert to avoid being forgotten and a goody-two-shoes to balance her rebellious teen siblings. Stories full of adventure and community became her saving grace after her step-dad passed away. His death and those stories helped her realize life was too short to live in mundanity, and she, thusly, became a rebel without a cause. However, a wild high school life and an egged police car later, she realized life wasn’t short enough to spend it in jail. So, post collegiate soul searching, she chose an equally radical but fully legal career plan that allows her to tell stories about silenced intersectional women overcoming past traumas to live lives full of love, adventure, and community. Candice is a recent graduate of Loyola Marymount University with an MFA in Writing and Producing for TV. She utilized her MFA, internship network, and past experience as an entertainment journalist to land a job at 20th TV as the executive assistant to the SVP of Drama Series. Her story-telling acuity has not only been praised by executives at Daniel Paulson Productions, Catchlight Studios, FX, and HBO, but her short film, "Walking Thin Lines," also won Best Student Screenplay at Hollywood Women's Film Festival 2020. Along with Best Student Screenplay, her short won 2 more awards and was selected for 5 different festivals.
