One of the luckiest people in the world - I am retiring from a 42 year loving practice in Optometry, and looking forward to my next passage, writing.
My first project began in 1985 with a novel called Reformation - the prison of the future, and the only novel and now
screenplay that focuses on reforming the prison and penal system. Its an old story about good vs bad where inmates also called residents are biochemically morphed, transformed and even reformed (hence Reformation); the first and only time where people change from the inside out instead of attempting to punish them into changing. The metaphor is how a caterpillar morphs into a butterfly.
Other completed projects are a children's story called, "THE BIRD THAT WAS AFRAID OF HEIGHTS"
And my FAVORITE, "I'M YODA, HE'S BUDDHA" A musical comedy about a inter-racial dysfunctional family get caught up in a time warp as The Milky Way and its nearest neighbor Andromeda get too close and the past (Buddha) and future (Yoda) meet up with the present in a Flushing Queens NY apartment and start a singing, dancing time travel with their leaders Yoda and Buddha. Ha Ha funny with dancing music. This has been my most fun, and although it was written as a stage play, with theaters shut down, it would be an easy edit to go screenplay. I envision this to be the longest running Broadway musical comedy stage play in history.
As a young man I never thought of creative writing though my Uncle Arne Sultan was a writer, producer on TV and screenplay- (See No Evil Hear No Evil) and a casting agent cousin
