About Peter

PETER WELCH (WRITER/DIRECTOR) Peter Welch is a New York City based multidisciplinary artist working in film, theater and fine art photography.

His photography has been exhibited in galleries and art expos throughout the United States, as well as in Europe, Mexico and Canada. These images often explore the American landscape in an attempt to find a sense of place in an ever changing, commercially oriented environment. Other themes touched upon are the harmonious relationship between life and death, the unpredictable nature of human experience and the
random nature of his own life ().

As a filmmaker Peter directed the popular indie feature film Three Long Years, which wasreleased worldwide in 2010. He also co-directed the popular experimental film The Piles Project featuring Art World superstars Mark Kostabi and Taylor Mead. Recently Peter completed the travelogue After Life 2016 which was released in the spring of 2020, and is helping produce Hamilton Harris's documentary The Kids featuring Jason Lee.

To date Peter’s had four full length plays produced in New York- Thelonious, Two Alone/Too Together, Autumn Stage & Don't Tell Mother, as well as several one acts. He has also acted in dozens of plays, films and television shows including leading roles on A&E's Fugitive Chronicles and the Cannes Film Festival winning short A Bike Ride.
