Vanessa Magic

Vanessa Magic is a filmmaker and screenwriter whose stories highlight Black female protagonists and leave the viewer learning something magical. Her experimental Afro-surrealist short film Oneironautic was an official selection at the Cannes Short Film Festival, and The Reelworld Film Festival where she was nominated for Stand Out Director and Writer for a short film. She recently directed an episode of True Dating Stories (LaRue/CBC) and is developing an Afrofuturist kids show called This Is Earth. She is working on a short film called The Absurdity of the Black Female Experience.
