Congratulations to all of the Stage 32 members who were involved (over 20 members!). We will begin the mixer at PF Changs in Burbank (we have the outdoor patio) at 5:00 PM until about 6:45 PM before we walk over to the theater for the screening. Happy Hour goes until 6, so everything is cheaper then. The movie will begin at 7:05 PM at the AMC 8 in Burbank which is just a few feet away from PF Changs. After the movie, there will be a Q&A with the director and Stage32 member David Rountree ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1116017/ ). Rountree is currently directing a thriller film in New Orleans and is set to direct the first film of a new book franchise this May. Other current panelist include Larry Thomas (108 Stitches actor and "Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld), Allen Maldonado (108 Stitches actor and opposite Denzel Washington in the Equalizer), Ryan Carlberg (Van Wilder and lead of 108 Stitches), David Banks and Chris Moir (Stage 32 members and actors in the film), and Solange Schwalbe (Emmy Award Winner and Stage 32 Member). Hi Stage 32 members. I am an independent filmmaker living in Topanga, CA. After a 30 year successful career as an award-winning documentary filmmaker, and a 10 year stint as a freelance corporate filmmaker, I decided it was time to my return to my roots as an independent filmmaker specializing in horror , thriller and B movies. You can check out my first feature, EMPRESS VAMPIRE, at EmpressVampire.com. I am packaging my second feature, HAPPY ENDING. The logline is: “An alien predator invades a remote desert whorehouse forcing the working girls and their Johns to fight for their lives - and humanity’s survival.” It is a micro-budget film with a crowd funding campaign getting ready to launch. Based on the campaign’s success, I will attach a name actor (I plan on Lance Henriksen) then go to AFM in search of foreign presales, producing partners and financiers. I have another film, GIRL PREY that I will be taking to AFM to also shop for presales, producing partners and financiers. Girl Prey’s logline is, “Six springbreak coeds find themselves kidnapped by a band of serial killers and spirited away to a tropical island, where they will be released and hunted for sport, but all is not as it seems.” GIRL PREY is a main stream feature with a $2M budget and name stars prepping for production in Hawaii next year. While I've been researching Indie film making, I have come across the name Stacey Parks in regards to Sales Agent and financing and distribution. Anyone heard of her? There is a LOT out there on her....anyone have first hand experience?

I am a life-long filmmaker having started when I was 13. I made my own movies until I graduated from college and hooked up with a documentary film making unit which I worked my up to direct. I have done corporate and boutique style film making and am now concentrating on independent features. My company's name is Sick Puppy Pictures so you might guess what kind of films I make. I obtained foreign distribution for my first feature, Empress Vampire, at AFM. I thought I had a deal with Brain Damage Films for domestic, but am not in love with their contract. I am on the brink of embarking on self distribution through Gravitas and Amazon unless anybody has a distributor they can recommend. Nice meeting all of you!
