John's the author of DICKEY CHAPELLE UNDER FIRE: PHOTOGRAPHS BY THE FIRST AMERICAN FEMALE WAR CORRESPONDENT KILLED IN ACTION. In addition to working on various writing projects, he's a former Coast Guard captain with a Ph.D. from the USC Film School. He's taught at the Coast Guard Academy and Yale and is an alumnus of the Writers Guild Foundation Veteran Writing Project.
