About Nil

Originally from Istanbul, Nil grew up in Sunnyvale, CA and majored in engineering at Stanford. She has taken numerous screenwriting courses, completed a filmmaking program at SF Film School, and made several short films.
Nil’s latest screenplay is an indie slacker comedy feature about a middle-aged woman who owns an electronic supply store in 90s Silicon Valley called Lydia's Electronics Supply & Surplus. She's also written a horror comedy feature Human Stalk (Stowe NYX Horror Fellowship Finalist, Blacklist Real Time Top List 2023, Cinestory Retreat 2023) about zombie environmentalists. She wrote/directed her own short Pearl in the Window (SF Short Film Festival, Cascadia Women’s International Film Festival, BraveMaker Film Festival) in 2022. She’s worked on indie sets as an assistant director, script supervisor, and PA.
Nil is drawn to character driven, female led, poetic stories about loneliness and connection, interwoven with comedy.
