Juan Foo

Juan Foo is candidly regarded as the pioneer independent producer who is ‘still’ around for the past 20 years. He produced Singapore’s first digital film, ''Return To Pontianak''(1999), first HD-feature ''Dirty Laundry'' (2001) and indie-cult film ''Perth'' (2005). He was Associate Producer for indie Singapore films such as ''Road Less Travelled'' (1997), ''Talking Cock The Movie'' (2002), and ''Unarmed Combat'' (2005). His latest work is seen in bubble-tea comedy ''1000 Cups to Midnight'' (2021) which is streamed online. Juan also produced Singapore’s first creature movie ''Circle Line'' (2022).

Juan worked in film companies such as Ground Glass Images, Shooting Gallery Asia and Taipan Films as Producer. He lectures in universities, polytechnics and private media institutions and has assumed the roles of industry moderator, jury and writer. Juan has also worked in government at Workforce Development Agency (now known as Workforce Singapore), Media Development Authority (now known as Infocomm Media Development Authority) and U Creative (by NTUC) in talent development, content quality assessment and outreach.
