Alex Arendse

My name is Alex Kenneth Arendse. I am a visual storyteller passionate about creating immersive and emotionally engaging works that resonate with the human experience. I am currently freelancing in Cape Town, South Africa as a second lighting assistant in the stills industry and a production assistant in the film industry. I am eager to gain more set experience, network and collaborate with individuals in the industry as I pursue my dream of becoming a full-time filmmaker.

I possess an entrepreneurial mindset and strong organizational skills enabling me to find innovative ways to bring unique projects to life while managing them effectively. I also thrive in collaborative environments and value connections with fellow creatives.

I recently worked at a photography gear rental company called Flash Photo. I worked in the lighting department and consequently gained a strong understanding of how to use lighting equipment and lighting techniques, allowing me to implement effective lighting on set.
