After receiving a B.A. in studio art, Patrick spent nearly a decade honing his craft -- writing and directing his own short films -- while working in the industry on bigger productions. One of his early 16mm shorts, HABERDASH, premiered on Movieola, Canada's short film channel, after a distributor caught a viewing at the Cannes Short Film Corner. Soon after, he began directing short documentaries for NPR’s nationally-syndicated program STATE OF THE RE:UNION, the first of several productive collaborations with Al Letson. His next directorial effort, the super 8mm short film VEER!, was one of seven shorts from the U.S. selected to hold its world premiere at the Gen Art Film Festival for Emerging Talent in NYC. In 2012, he completed his feature-length adaptation of VEER! The story of a down-and-out pro skateboarder, the film toured the festival circuit winning Best Florida Film at the Sunscreen Film Festival and the Skate or Die Award at the Pollygrind Underground Film Festival in Las Vegas before acquiring distribution. Currently, he is directing his first tv pilot, PROJECT MOSSFIRE, a thriller which follows the release of the FBI's long-suspected "secret" files on the supernatural, occult and unexplained.
Patrick has taught film production at the college level and written for Filmmaker Magazine. He lives in north Florida and works everywhere.
