I am a bilingual writer living in Puerto Rico, where I grew up with nine siblings, hundreds of books, and a sole Barbie. Until three years ago, I was the editor of a Latin American trade magazine. I have since fully dived into fiction writing, and rom-com, holiday, drama, and humorous screenwriting.
With my first drama screenplay, A Perfect Fit, I was one of 14 Latinos chosen a decade ago to attend a NALIP screenwriting workshop in New York and Los Angeles. I am also the screenwriter of La Mecedora, an acclaimed short produced by Puerto Rico´s Film Commission. My four books have garnered Puerto Rico´s major literary awards and recognitions. I am also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served in Costa Rica in the 1980s, one of many experiences that has kindled my creativity and penchant for unique, personal stories.
Unique traits: Fully bilingual: Spanish and English.
