Marsy Robinson is the Supervising Producer for the next chapter of Sex and the City: And Just Like That... for HBOMax. She is the Creator and Writer/Producer for the highly anticipated animated series and meta-verse - The Adventures of Hoop and Pep! Prior to that, she was Co-Producer for the Netflix/WB scripted series A.J. and the Queen and for various pilots under MPK Productions/WB for Amazon, Netflix, HBOMax and CBS. Marsy is a member of the Producers Guild of America, is the founder of The Commune. Q: What is the format of a webinar?

Pitch Tank Webcast with John Funk

We're back in the Writers' Room for the Pitch Tank Webcast with Independent Producer, John Funk. John Funk is an independent producer who has worked in nearly every aspect of the film industry. He has over a decade of entertainment industry experience, having coordinated and produced with A-listers, all of the studios, and films that have grossed over $1B worldwide. His most recent credit was on A STAR IS BORN starring Bradley Cooper and Lady GaGa, with producer Heather Parry. John is the unofficial, "Godfather of Television and Movies," being the last assistant to Chuck Fries, the "Godfather of the Television Movie," called that because he was the first to put a movie on television. John worked with Vincent Newman on the box office hit comedy, WE'RE THE MILLERS and started his career working with Tom Cruise at MGM/United Artists. John developed and sold the script PATIENT ZERO to Clint Culpepper at Screen Gems, attached an Oscar winning director, Stanley Tucci, and shot it in London. The film was released in 2018 to rave reviews. John was also a part of the final season of the smash television comedy, 'You're The Worst" for FX, and the 80th Oscars.

The Pitch Tank Webcast with Sophia Kalin of BOLD Films

We're diving into the Writers' Room Pitch Tank with special guest, Sophia Kalin, Creative Executive at BOLD Films. There she actively participated in the development and production of a feature film with Netflix, as well as the packaging and selling of several television series to studios. Bold Films has produced the Oscar-winning film WHIPLASH, as well as NIGHTCRAWLER, VOX LUX with Oscar-winner Natalie Portman. Their latest film THE GUILTY stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ethan Hawke, and Riley Keough, and will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2021. Sophia helps both writers and directors tailor project pitches to look for financing. Prior to Bold Films, Sophia worked in representation at Paradigm and Gersh in the Feature/TV Lit Department. Outside of Bold Films, Sophia produces low-budget independent films.

The Pitch Tank Webcast with Special Guest Producer Regina Lee (HBO, Fox, Starz, CBS)

We're diving into the Writers' Room Pitch Tank with special guest, Producer Regina Lee! She was the production company executive of Fox releases X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Deception. Some favorite TV projects as Executive Producer are an animated comedy pilot at FOX and a drama pilot at BET created by the current showrunner of Queen Sugar, as well as multiple TV pilots with 20th Century Fox TV Studios. She produced two TV movie thrillers that aired on Lifetime. As a production company executive with a deal at CBS Network, she was on the team that sold multiple projects to CBS and The CW, getting a show on the air at CBS. She began her executive career at Universal Pictures, where she was the primary executive in charge of American Wedding and Curious George.

We're back in the Writers' Room for the Pitch Tank Webcast with Liska Ostojic Liska Ostojic is the Head of Development for 120E Films, a company run by filmmaker Pin-Chun Liu. The company's second feature, TEST PATTERN, was released February 2021. Focusing on stories of diverse and underrepresented voices for an international market, 120E Films is interested in short-form and feature-length content that is timely and impactful. Previously Liska has worked at Dreamworks Animation. After graduating with an MFA from the American Film Institute Conservatory, Liska co-wrote the award-winning shorts CONTRAPELO and WAY IN RYE, as well as numerous commissioned features. Her passion remains collaborating with and mentoring writers, discovering wonderful stories that deserve to be told, and championing ones that will make a difference in the world.
