Jeff Gomez, producer, writer, and CEO of Starlight Runner, is turning the Hero's Journey on its head with the emergence of the Collective Journey, a model that changes the way we tell stories. (Think Orange is the New Black or Game of Thrones.)
Gomez believes that while the Hero's Journey functions as driving the survival of the fittest, the model is becoming antiquated. In its place sits the Collective Journey; one that no longer requires the story be linear. It no longer asks for the polarization of good and evil.
Instead, it calls for more story with multiple storylines, a multitude of characters, and a much deeper meaning.
