Hey, Stage32-ers!

As the summer winds down, I am reminded of the importance of passion but also allowing others to ignite that fire from within. Whether it is a new friend or old, a peer or mentor, a fan or critic, we all need a little spark to keep our love of the craft alive. Strangely enough, finding ways to help others during this uncertain time has in turn helped ourselves keep going. I was so energized and enlightened by my next guest that I had to take a little extra time to divvy up the segments – look out for highlights with tips for screenwriters!

For our today’s "Member Spotlight," I challenge you to reach out and encourage someone. To help someone else knowing that as they rise, we all rise together. Take a moment to watch their reels or clips or read a logline or script, and then follow up with a personalized direct message. Stage 32 is the place to find encouragement and inspiration and nothing feels better than receiving that personalized feedback. We're the community that wants to foster positivity as much as productivity! Without further ado, in this Member Spotlight blog, I invite you to meet a big producer with an equally big heart: Diego Cantu

Diego is a writer/producer from Mexico now in Los Angeles, who started his career in marketing and advertising. With fellow producers Greg Grunberg and Brad Savage at Bandwagon Media and Legion M, they filmed and released a series during the pandemic called The Insiders which takes a hilarious spin on “Zoom Fatigue”. As a new member to Stage 32, he has some great insights on how to direct and produce through Zoom, the genuine opportunities for content-makers, and loving the process to succeed. We also talk about the opportunity for creativity when faced with limitations.

While Diego started as a Producer and learned about writing, our next guest started as a writer and is learning about production. Dawn Prato, a writer from Vancouver, will be chatting about her roadblocks, the Stage 32 Writer’s Room, and how her little victories have added up to big momentum.

If you're digging the series, leave a comment below! Don't forget to share with your friends and let them know where they can meet more cool people like Diego!
