Script to Screen: Download the Emmy-Nominated Pilot Script of GIRLS 5EVA

Happy Screenplay Saturday Stage 32!

I hope you all had a beautiful and creative week. I was catching up on the trades this week (following the very sage wisdom of our founder and CEO Richard "RB" Botto: Always read the trades and know what is going on in the business of entertainment!) and I came across an article from Deadline Hollywood about the Emmy-nominated peacock original show Girls 5Eva.

Personally, being a long-time Sara Bareilles fan (where are all my Waitress the Musical fans at?!), an endless devotee to all things Tina Fey touches, and a lover of 90s pop girl groups - I pretty much lost my mind when I saw the trailer for this show.

This particular script is the Emmy-nominated pilot written by the series creator Meredith Scardino. Give it a read and let me know what you think in the comments below! What did you love? What did you think of the character introductions? (Wickie pretending she owns a jet when she just works at the airport is *chef's kiss*)

No matter what hat you wear in the industry, reading scripts is a great way to flex your creative filmmaking muscles. So grab your libation of choice and snuggle up with this delightful weekend read.

Hello! My name is Taylor C. Baker and I am incredibly honored to help our community share their stories on the Stage 32 blog, and it is true joy personified! If you have a pitch for a Stage 32 blog post - I would love to hear it! Email me at taylor@stage32.com with your pitch and your favorite movie + corresponding snack (just for fun!)

A little about me... I am an actress, writer, and professional goofball.

On-screen, you can find me on the award-winning digital series Female Friendly, which I had the pleasure of co-creating and writing as well. Additionally, my dimples graced the tv-sphere on Lucifer, where I played a southern roller derby queen opposite of the devil himself on Fox/Netflix. My natural southern roots strike again when I play Helene on Polygonerz, now streaming on Amazon.

On stage, I'm known as the comedienne "Trixie Treble", where I have been humbly dubbed "Lucille Ball in a Garter Belt". Simply put: adorned in bedazzled ensembles, I sing parodies while expertly executing awkward dance moves - usually while eating a baguette (or a cupcake, depending on my mood).

Recently, I launched The Great Taylor C. Baker Show where I am baking my way through The Great British Bake Off technical challenges in hopes to live up to my namesake and become a better baker. Follow along with my baking (mis)adventures on YouTube and Instagram @taylorcbaker
