Happy Sunday Creative Army!

I've got my coffee in hand and your weekly dose of content coming in hot - grab your coffee of choice and let's dive right in.

This week we're digging into the Assistant Director. First up, we'll break down the role with a video from Beyond Film School. When you're trying to keep your crew small, you might not think you need an Assistant Director, but it's their job to communicate what the director needs to the crew so that they can focus on the creative aspects of the job. It's not an assistant, and it's not a director, but it is a crucial role and a great job to work your way up to in production.

Next, Stage 32 Interviews Marty Eli Schwartz, a successful Assistant Director with an incredible career in film and television, working on projects like NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM, Ryan Murphy's FEUD, JUSTIFIED, and countless other titles. Marty has held many positions in the industry and tells viewers how you can become an Assistant Director.

If you're looking for something to listen to, check out this episode of Team Deakins Podcast interviewing Assistant Director Peter Kohn, whose credits include LA LA LAND and BIRDMAN. Kohn digs into his entire career, including where his passion started, how he got into the business, his love of musicals, and more.

Lastly, if you want to learn more about Assistant Directing and Production Management, we've got a fantastic webinar with Korey Pollard available exclusively through Stage 32.
