I am proud to share an exciting milestone for the film industry in Mexico: CANACINE, the National Chamber of the Film Industry, has entered into a strategic partnership with Stage 32 to open up Stage 32’s certification program to Mexican filmmakers.
This collaboration represents a powerful step forward, not only for Mexico’s creative community, but also for the global audiovisual industry looking toward Mexico as a premier destination for film and television production.
Mexico has long been recognized as one of the world’s most vibrant and creative filmmaking nations. From our iconic landscapes and historic cities to our world-class crews and production infrastructure, Mexico has served as the backdrop for countless international and national film and television productions for decades.
Mexico offers an extraordinary combination of advantages that make it one of the most competitive production hubs in the world:
Some of the most recent prolific international film and TV productions shot in Mexico include: Saw X (2023), Tenth installment of the iconic horror franchise, filmed on location in Mexico City; Los Gringo Hunters (2025), international Netflix TV series set and filmed in Tijuana; Mexico 86 (2024), international drama, with principal photography in Mexico; No me sigas (2025), Spanish-language horror film produced by Blumhouse and shot in Mexico City; Crocodiles (2025), a crime thriller co-produced, filmed in Veracruz, Technoboys (2024), a Netflix feature produced and filmed in Mexico (as part of the streamer’s local production slate); Las Locuras (2024), drama by Rodrigo García for Netflix; The Biggest Fan (2024), comedy starring Kate del Castillo, produced by Netflix; Los Dos Hemisferios de Lucca (2024), Netflix production from Mariana Chenillós; and Down The Rabbit Hole (2024), Comedy-drama from Manolo Caro.

At CANACINE, we believe that talent development and training are vital pillars for the growth of our national film industry. That is why this partnership with Stage 32 is so meaningful for us.
Stage 32 is the world’s largest online platform for film and television professionals, offering more than 4,000 hours of educational content, workshops, labs, and training led by top experts from the global entertainment industry.
Through this alliance, Mexican professionals – from emerging content creators to experienced film and television producers – will now have access to Stage 32’s globally recognized certification. All programs will be delivered fully online, supported by CANACINE’s national network of delegations across the country.
By connecting Mexican talent with global industry standards and credentials, we are:

Mexico is one of the fastest-growing markets for Stage 32. This alliance also strengthens Mexico’s visibility as a top-tier filming destination for productions from the United States and around the globe.
Stage 32’s social community is an ideal platform for us to bolster CANACINE’s mission in and outside Mexico:
I am proud to share some of the coverage of the partnership between CANACINE and Stage 32, internationally, and in national and local media in Mexico.

"The agreement also includes the international promotion of Mexico as a filming destination for US and global productions. The country offers a skilled workforce and diverse locations. Furthermore, states like Jalisco and Morelos offer incentives that include reimbursements of up to 40% of local production expenses. This increases Mexico's competitiveness in the global market.
“Training and talent development are fundamental pillars for the growth of the Mexican film industry and represent one of Canacine’s priorities,” said Tabata Vilar, general director of Canacine.
“Partnering with Stage 32 allows us to ensure that the country’s professionals, both established and emerging, have internationally competitive tools and credentials,” he added.
“Mexico has stood out for decades as a creative and production powerhouse in Latin America,” commented David Zannoni, International Liaison for Stage 32 and delegate of Canacine in Quintana Roo."
