Happy Screenplay Saturday Stage 32!
I hope you all had a beautiful and creative week. I was catching up on the trades this week (following the very sage wisdom of our founder and CEO Richard "RB" Botto: Always read the trades and know what is going on in the business of entertainment!) and I came across an article from Deadline Hollywood about episode 101 of HBO's Lovecraft Country.
This script is the first of 10 episodes in this drama/horror mini-series produced by Jordan Peele, J.J. Abrams, and Misha Green. Set in the 1950s, this series follows a family in search of their missing father. Like many popular film/tv shows of late, this series is based on a book by the same name. If you have read the book, what similarities/differences did you notice in the script/series? Let us know in the comments below!
No matter what hat you wear in the industry, reading scripts is a great way to flex your creative filmmaking muscles. So grab your libation of choice and snuggle up with this delightful weekend read.
