In today’s fourth episode, David speaks with Octavio Marin, VP of Production & Operations for Santa Fe Studios and SF Film Services, LLC. Octavio oversees Santa Fe Studios’ state-of-the-art production facilities and complete film production services.

Additionally, Octavio is a producer who most recently served as an Associate Producer on the feature film 2 HEARTS, which was released in theaters in 2020.

From 2003 to 2014, Octavio was the Signature Programs Director for the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) where he developed and produced all the NALIP Programs, including the highly successful Latino Producers Academy™, the Latino Writers Lab™, and the annual NALIP Media Summit, amongst others. Octavio also served as Unit Production Manager (UPM) on the film HOW THE GARCIA GIRLS SPENT THEIR SUMMER –- an official selection of the 2005 Sundance Film Festival and acted as Production Consultant on the Independent feature film AMERICA 101.

Earlier in his creative and production endeavors, Octavio served as Director of Creative Affairs for Caldera/De Fanti Entertainment and worked as Production Associate and Production Supervisor on several features and short films including; TEXAS RANGERS, ONE MAN’S HERO, and CAFE ARGENTINA.

In the below video, David and Octavio discuss the production services process, how to work with studio spaces to bring your production to life, and the growing landscape of studio locations around the world. As well as the many benefits and incentives involved with filming your indie projects in smaller cities and satellite production hubs such as New Mexico.
