Ted Lasso Returns for a Fourth Season

If you haven't seen the series yet, if you skipped it because you thought it was just "another series about athletes," well, I'm telling you, you could be missing out on a great television series.

And I speak from personal experience. #TedLasso was on my #AppleTV watchlist for many months, but it wasn't until a few days ago that I decided to give it a chance.

So, in less than a week, my wife and I have devoured the three available seasons of this wonderful series where sports almost take a backseat, because the main focus is on the humanity of each of the characters.

We've laughed, we've been moved, and I must confess that I even shed a tear, especially in the final episode of the third season, which, by the way, lasts almost an hour and a half.

You know I don't like to spoil things, so I won't give too many details about the story itself, but I want to share some fun facts.

Ted Lasso, the character, was born almost by chance. The protagonist, Jason Sudeikis, was part of one of the most popular television shows in the United States for many years: #SaturdayNightLive.

During that show, Jason played the character for some #NBC sports commercials. It was then that, along with his wife, actress and director Olivia Wilde, they decided to capitalize on the experience.

Ted Lasso, the series, is considered a unicorn production. It's beloved by critics, won two #EmmyAwards, and became a ratings phenomenon, despite being on Apple TV, a platform that doesn't have as much reach as Netflix, Max, or Prime Video. However, in 2023, it was the most-watched original series in the United States.

The truth is that, after several negotiations, the return of Ted Lasso for a fourth season is now confirmed and is expected to premiere before the end of this year. His close friend, Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt), also returns, playing a special role as one of the writers, along with actor Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent.

There will be many new additions, and it's still unknown which players will be returning to the original cast, but this new season is expected to be even more captivating, especially since Jason Sudeikis is now working hand in hand with an expert in this type of show, #JackBurditt, a veteran producer responsible for, among other things, #ModernFamily and #Frasier, both worldwide TV hits.

So, for now, all that's left is to wait for the official announcements. If you haven't seen it yet, this is your chance to be entertained and thrilled by the story of this unconventional football coach.
