Filmmaking / Directing : Better Late Than Never by Lise Pyles

Lise Pyles

Better Late Than Never

I stupidly missed the kickoff for the July Filmmaking Club, but here are my goals:

1. Renew relationship and make introduction between a few folks to see if there is synergy.

2. Rethink a couple late additions to my script. It may have been better before.

3. Continue my search for the right director.

Sam Sokolow

Feels like you're right on time with these July Filmmakers Club goals, Lise Pyles! Can you share what your script is about?

Maurice Vaughan

Great goals, Lise Pyles! Renew relationships is one of my goals for July Filmmakers Club and the rest of the year. I'm cheering you on to reach your goals!

Lise Pyles

Hi, Sam. Thanks for asking. It's a small-stakes feature dramedy about a middle-aged desk clerk with a severe public speaking phobia who, to help others, must give a speech -- IF she can overcome her past and the crotchety mentorship of an elderly genius.

I'm not a huge fan of comps, but if pressed, I'd say they would be NOMADLAND and THE WIFE.

Lise Pyles

Thanks, Maurice. It's amazing how many relationships I've made over the years and have let lapse for no particular reason. I'm actually looking forward to it. Best of luck with your journey.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Lise Pyles. Your script sounds interesting! Thanks. Best to you on your journey!

reducing content helps to read the script below, make easier to read and catch without voice translation which adequate link languages pitch sometimes alternates the behaviour.

Your scripts looks strong, I would love to hear more from you! Best of Luck!

Ashley Renee Smith

Gisele Orellana

Hi Lise. I missed Week 1 too.

About your story. I feel for your character. Public speaking can be terrifying for some people. But that´s the idea, right? To make it difficult for her. For other people that's easy, but not for her. I get it.

Lise Pyles

Thanks, Gisele. I love stories of personal journeys and personal goals. You're right. What's a small issue for one person might be a huge deal to someone else.

Carlos Javier

what I've learnt from Miley is SCS.

stands for SelfConfidence Spontaneous, otherwise you are not longer applying the character

Jason Mirch

Your number 1 is my number 1 as well! Best of luck with it!

Tom Lapke
