I think it's great that the theater chains are making the moviegoing experience better, Sam Sokolow! I wonder how they're going to make the ziplines work.

Sydney, I used to love going too, and I never missed anything, no matter poor reviews or not my genres of interest, But, now--ticket, refreshment, etc. prices have gotten too high, not to mention endless, mindless commercials and other irritants. Also, product they are hustling is now of a very poor quality. Movie going experience now, excuse my French, sucks. And instead of. improvements they mention, that improve nothing but their bottom line why don't they work on things I mentioned, in addition to the dozen plus actors with net worths over $100 million and 100 actors net worth over $50 million, etc ??????( dump them, yesterday. They are not worth a fraction of that and are a major part of problem). Having to watch their lousy performances, in lousy vehicles with this info in your head is also sure to put a dark cloud over any breathing person's squash.

I miss going to a movie. That pandemic really chopped everything off at the knees. I hope theaters recover and survive. There's no better experience than watching a movie on that huge screen with the fantastic surround sound.

Sam Sokolow - I was JUST going to post this same article when I came across your post. Great news of course. Of course, I imagine that an investment in enhanced experience could come with price increases. It reminds me of the prediction that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg made almost 20 years ago. that going to the theater would become an 'event' with bigger movies and more luxury.

Sam Sokolow my local Vue Cinema has been upgrading their screens. The seats are now very comfortable armchair style, which means that they have reduced capacity but increased the comfort for the audience.

The experience of going to a theater cannot be replicated. The only thing is the popcorn can be better in some theaters.

I'm going to the theater tonight, actually! It's been a hard week and the theater is one of my happy places. The magic of it never fails to cheer me up.

Theaters may be evolving, but one can't deny they are on their way out. Maybe not entirely, but people are more glued to their small screened devices or home streaming services. The last couple times I went to a theater there were maybe a dozen people there.
