How to Produce a Feature Film with International Festival Appeal

How can you produce a film that will stand-out from the mass, and attract the eyes of the most competitive festivals in the world? What are festivals’ artistic directors looking for? That is what we will cover in this webinar.

Unfortunately, many films (especially in America) are funded through private equity and that is often a system or method that favors safe content over risky content, as your focus is to recoup for their investors. Therefore, many of these projects have a lower level of creative risk but to stand out at a festival means the complete opposite. A project that will stand out is a project that has elements that are unique and have never been created or seen before.

That is one of the reasons international films are often the films that travel to many international festivals. They usually obtain financing from public institutions, which allows room for more innovative ideas that are riskier on a recoupment front.
