Came across this interesting analysis of how many modern movies treat their audiences in comparison to its budget. Some good food for thought: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/viggo-mortensen-lord...

"And the more the budget is, the less chances they want to take. They want to make sure everybody understands, and everybody goes to see it. And so they over-explain things." Viggo is right, Ewan Dunbar. I've noticed that characters in big movies over-explain things. And the characters repeat things. I'm guessing because studios and big movie companies think the audience won't remember what the characters said the first time.
