The Motion Picture Academy is considering changing the rules for Oscar submissions. Starting in 2026, films may need to reveal if they used AI in their production. I think this is a good thing because it provides better security for improvements in performance or creativity. I think that finding a balance is always the best approach. AI is useful in many ways, but we need rules to manage how it's used. What do you think about this?

I think it's great, Sandra Isabel Correia, because like you said, it provides better security for improvements in performance or creativity. And it lets creatives, industry professionals, and fans know if AI was used in production. That gives us all the option to watch and support the films or not.

Yes it provides tighter security across the board and, like you said, it provides much better security for improvements in performance and creativity. It also lets creatives, industry professionals, and the fans know if AI was used in production or not.

We are on the same page Maurice Vaughan and that’s good! We need transparency to choose what to support with free will. Thank you for sharing my friend :))

You're welcome, Sandra Isabel Correia. I think transparency is one of the most important things in this industry and any industry.

It is Maurice Vaughan. Although it is the most difficult to ensure because of economic and political interests. Let's wait for the Motion Picture Academy to manage to become mandatory, and it will positively help the entire filmmaking industry.

They don’t Dan MaxXx but they rule their world and who knows if can help others :)) I agree with AI in a balanced way and of course can help creativity, if it’s used with transparency . Thank you for passing by :)

Transparancy is always the best approach to things and folks should know if AI has been used in a film and, perhaps more impirtantly, to what extent (technically, creatively, etc.). It's too big and unique of an issue to the creative community on so many to be kept under wraps and transparancy may help the global community figure out where the lines should be drawn.

Absolutely a great idea. There should be a classification system which advises the extent and in which disciplines it has been used (writing, voice, editing, etc.)

Won’t eliminate Dan MaxXx If everything is used with balance! The issue arises when individuals who prioritize money over humanity exploit AI to harm society! That’s why transparency is vital! Of course, this is my opinion.

AI is just automating parts of the process and assisting. I am a very artistic director and a good one, but will be nowhere without my crew and cast. As long as I don't have money to hire assistancy or crew to make my ideas come to life, I will use what is available and is LEGAL, which is AI. But you sort of have to have an understanding of what it is if you want to make it transparant and to me that is education, up to teachers and filmschools.
Thank you Willem Elzenga I appreciated your post and makes sense for me! I believe is the truth we must believe and follow! Thank you :))
