Lawrence Hughes Stern

Award-winning, repped Screenwriter and Professional Script Analyst

Hi everyone - just wanted to say hello and see what people are working on and trying to create these days! I am repped in LA for writing, have five screenplays optioned, and have worked as a script analyst for many years at one of the top literary/talent agencies here. Maybe we can work together! I always enjoy meeting new writer/producers/artists -- Best, Lawrence

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Lawrence Hughes Stern. Hope you're having a great week! I'm finishing up a ghostwriting job, rewriting a feature script, and outlining a feature. What are you working on?

Lawrence Hughes Stern

Hi Maurice Vaughan ! that's great to hear! You sound very productive :) While I continue to focus on the packaging process of one of my feature projects, I'm actually writing an extended short story per recent trends :)

Maurice Vaughan

I'm thinking about doing the same thing, Lawrence Hughes Stern. Writing a short story. They're selling, and I've been thinking about writing short stories again anyway. I think the last short story I wrote was about Humpty Dumpty getting revenge.

Lawrence Hughes Stern

It seems to be the current focus - who knew?!

Geoffroy Faugerolas

Great to meet you, Lawrence Hughes Stern! Any tips you could share with the community about navigating the industry?

Lawrence Hughes Stern

You too Geoffroy Faugerolas - one tip would be to do your due diligence about people/companies - to help prevent working with people that aren't legit or worthwhile :) Too many in LA (and other places) that try to take advantage of artists.

Geoffroy Faugerolas

Fair enough! Always good to do your research, know who the players are and when in doubt...email us at success@stage32.com. We're here to help.

Geoffroy Faugerolas You and I both received our MFA degrees from UCLA (I was in the writing program). Have you joined the new UCLA networking site? They FINALLY created one for alums!

Rosie Schreiber

Lawrence Hughes Stern I love the tip you just gave! I think it's unfortunately super easy to be swindled as new artists and it is super important to be aware and do your research. Love that stage32 is willing to help that way. So great. Glad you're here man, feel free to connect anytime <3

Lawrence Hughes Stern

Rosie Schreiber thanks Rosie! Just connected with you -

Jim Boston

Lawrence, I'm working on a comedy set in 1957 Boston, "Wendy's Wonderland." In it, a savvy, precocious, streetsmart preteen girl (she's a teacher's daughter) becomes the host of a new Saturday morning kidvid show...a series its on-the-ropes station pins all its hopes on. (I'm about 20 pages away from finding "FADE OUT.")

Period pieces...don't worry. I do contemporary stories, too.

Welcome to Stage 32...so very glad you're here!

Lawrence Hughes Stern

Jim Boston that sounds great! hope you are pleased with the first draft! And thanks for the nice welcome :)
