So, I live a mere 2 miles from a Regal 16-screen multiplex, currently offering 19 titles, yet I’m familiar with ONLY four: SNOW WHITE, DEATH OF A UNICORN, A WORKING MAN, and THE WOMAN IN THE YARD. Is it any wonder why the industry is dying? Reduced production, not enough marketing. You know things are teetering towards the abyss when prominent actors Aubrey Plaza and Michael Shannon are working side by side in a Ritz Cracker commercial. Anyone up for Will Ferrell singing the praises for some online, pay-with-the-app? Trust me, it’s out there.
What’s it like in your town? Do you recognize the latest film menu at your local theater? Do tell.
Photo: Me. Enjoying BARBARIAN in an empty theater a few years ago. May be taking a similar photo tomorrow during SNOW WHITE.

Hey, Bill Brock. I’m a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I wanted to let you know I moved your post from the Screenwriting Lounge to the Anything Goes Lounge. The Anything Goes Lounge is for discussion about the industry, movies, shows, plays, etc. If you edit your post so it's related to screenwriting (promoting a script, structure, etc.), it can go in the Screenwriting Lounge. Let me know if you have any questions.
I know about the latest movies at my local theaters (two of them). It's mainly because of social media.

Things are shifting big time towards Ai creation, also, folks are staying at home with Neflix, plus, all of this political mumbo-jumbo is not helping the system as well Bill Brock you can see the shift as you do, but most are mum to it. Change is here to stay: Thanks to ai, Indies, Netflix, Rumble, Youtube, and other platforms where folks can wait and watch the moive for free!
