Warner Bros Circling Steven Caple Jr. To Direct ‘I Am Legend 2’

The source material for the original movie had the best ending of any book I have ever read. The book was set in LA and not New York, but the change didn't change the story. But the choice to rewrite the ending was really disappointing. Especially after I learned they filmed it as an alternate ending and didn't use it. I hope if they do a sequel that the commit to the intent of the original ending. https://deadline.com/2024/07/i-am-legend-2-steven-caple-jr-will-smith-mi...

Steven Caple Jr. did incredible with Creed II and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Tom Lapke! He's a great choice for I Am Legend 2!

Leonardo Ramirez

Wholeheartedly agree, Tom Lapke - would have much preferred the original ending. Keeping to that would obviously make room for a second but not so with the theatrical ending.

Pat Alexander

They really made a hard choice with that ending, but if A Quiet Place 3 showed us anything it's that as long as you have a cool universe, you can always mine it for more stories

I would make an incredible TV Series Tom Lapke and how do they bring back

Will Smith´s character from the dead?

John Kennedy

New York is far better location / filmic and recognisable to audiences.

I hope the improve the CGI animals and zombies as that’s the major fault with the film.

As long as the story feels sequential I hope it happens.

Tom Lapke hi there, Tom. I loved I Am Legend, it had some great twists and I thought Will Smith did a great job as Neville. It would be great to see a sequel, but I hope it has the same intensity as I Am Legend 1.
