SYNOPSIS:
SUMMARY
“The Warrior’s Ballad” is written along the lines of films such as “Boyhood” and “The Karate Kid.” The story is about a young Korean girl named Yun-Jin whose been suffering from PTSD since the tragic death of her parents. To make matters worse, Yun-Jin is now the victim of school bullying from fellow student Bong-Cha. In response, Yun-Jin learns Mixed Martial Arts, and soon lands a spot on an amateur fighting team. She begins to excel, and eventually decides to enter the pro fighting circuit in Seoul, where she becomes something of a celebrity. But complications ensue when Yun-Jin learns her next opponent will be her former nemesis, Bong-Cha. Not only that, but she’s soon framed for possession of illegal drugs and gets beaten up by masked thugs. Now, bearing fresh wounds from her attack, Yun-Jin must thwart her enemies to qualify for the fight against Bong-Cha … or stand to lose everything that she’s worked so hard for.
In the tradition of Korean dramas the story begins from Yun-Jin’s early teen years, advancing with each act and ultimately following five years of her life.
