Greetings! My name is Luis Ramón Quintero, I am a Director / Writer from Los Angeles California. Most recently, I won the 2020 NHMC writers fellowship sponsored by Disney/ABC and NBC. Today I am so excited to be part of the Stage32 introduce yourself weekend. In fact, I'm so excited that I'm going to introduce my friend K as well!
Meet K. Ross! (https://www.stage32.com/KRoss) is currently the Community Manager for Stage32, but what most people don't know is that she is an amazing writer. Her stories focus on championing unsung heroes in our community that are often overshadowed by stereotypical troupes. Her poetic words made me gravitate towards her. I quickly came to find out that she has unselfishly mentored so many because she herself has had some amazing mentors.
We would love to know more about you! So tell us a story.

Thank you for that introduction, Luis R. Quintero, and LOVE that new profile picture! :-D So fun, so friendly, so YOU!
Ooo, Luis, have you met Maurice Vaughan before? He's also a screenwriter and I'm so excited for his journey. Maurice, did you recently acquire representation? I know you've received several writing jobs through Stage32 and write thriller/horror, although - Maurice, are you expanding on that now? Didn't I see you promoting an unscripted series?

Hey, Rosie Ferdin Cruz! Good to meet you as well! Right?! So excited for Luis's fellowships and what's up next for him. I love your on-screen presence, btw! Are you looking for more acting opportunities, or are you more interested in finding material to produce?

Karen, I think I may have spoken with Luis before. His name looks familiar.
I didn't acquire representation. On my profile it talks about my previous manager. It's fine that I don't have a manager though. I'm acting like my own manager.
I mainly write Drama, Horror, Thriller, Fantasy, and Sci-Fi. I've been writing more Comedy and other genres lately. I write commercials and unscripted TV shows (pitches and pitch decks) also.
The unscripted reality TV show I'm pitching is a Comedy/Drama. Imagine a dysfunctional group of people (family, rivals, classmates, etc.) working together to complete a huge task.

Congrats on the fellowship, Luis R. Quintero ! And yes, members of Stage 32 Writers' Room love Karen "Kay" Ross! Her newest Stage 32 gig is giving great feedback on members' scripts in the bi-monthly Coverage Reports. So helpful not only to the writer of the script but also to members who have read the script and are listening in.

Aww, thank you @Martha ! Yeah, every other Monday at 6pm PST I CO-host The Coverage Report with Lit Kilpatrick (look him up, he’s awesome) and we review our coverage notes on WR Member scripts. It’s always hard getting feedback, but it’s been so enjoyable to explore improving our writing together! So glad you’re finding value in it as well! We also have a SLEW of member-hosted events now! Louisa is doing the Writer’s Cafe in Sunday’s, Brooklyn is rocking the Pitch Practice Sessions on Thursday, Nick does Table Read Tuesday’s - it really is the coolest new development!

Aww, thank you so much, Monica! Luis - have you met my friend Aurore? She also enjoys cerebral SciFi and I think you'd enjoy chatting about obscure SciFi films with her! Here is my intro post about her: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/introduce_yourself/Talking-Swedish-and-Sc...
Monica - You should definitely chat up Luis. I think you both have similar sensibilities when it comes to horror/SciFi. Aren't you writing a thriller? Am I remembering that correctly?

Look everyone..IM John McCartney- Ex producer, Producer of Television programming, and now my few partners are breaking in Hollywood quietly, yes quietly in film. Because of the crazy way we got in..so by saying all that within now and next year we will bring a new team together after we secure a deal for the writing/production staff. We will create films and tv shows..we call all our scripts BLOCKBUSTERS and pitch them just to see if Hollywood would be nterested. Everyone that I add to my network is looked at as a potential teammate. It's just a matter of will YOU fit in our diversity of Women/Men of color. We don't current write scripts for Hollywood but strictly for huge market to be flipped distributed and be profitable then move on too the NEXT. I don't know you but I'm looking for people That I see as maker's of Block busters..im not looking to write or produce films for small markets. Finally the best part, you are not exclusively with me/us. Move on is ok and advised. Stay and build..but don't use us. Shipwrecked Writers Inc. underground but worldwide. TV, DIGITAL, STREAMING, BROADCAST. Monies divided with Production staff which is why we are strict in bringing people into our circle of writers.
Hi Luis, Congrats on winning the fellowship. I’m an Thai American screenwriter who attempted to tell stories from a Buddhist philosophy perspective on my first script. A historical biography that is a heck of complexity. I DM you so we can connect. Thanks.
