When I was younger, I was blessed to experience the entertainment industry as a child actress. I was signed at the age of 5, and worked on my first show, Cheers, that same year. WOW, that dates me. Growing up I experienced life through some of the talented eyes of some of Hollywood’s renowned filmmakers such as George Lucas, Ivan Reitman, Garry Marshall, as well as seasoned television creators such as Jeff Franklin.
Though it didn’t seem like it then, I was actually a terribly shy child, but being onstage made me flourish. As a teen, I continued my pursuit in the entertainment industry, but while working on a film, I met the films writer where I fell absolutely head over heels in love with writing, expression, and the art of storytelling. This is where my writing journey began. I was 12, and I had already been playing around with this idea for a story, I just didn’t know how to go about it. It was through the films writer, I gained my knowledge. He was the most humbly, helpful man I had ever known. He changed my life.
Over the years, I shelved the idea and began a pursuit of another idea I had. Unfortunately, this is when I found out I was ADHD. I could not keep the concentration I needed to complete one story. So, I wrote both. One I developed into a novel, and the other I am completing. Yes, it’s taken me many of years to get to where I am now, but through life, love, heartbreak, triumph, and tragedy I am stronger than ever and more determined to become that “professional entertainment” writer that I have always known to be in my cards!!
Sometimes life throws you off track; just be strong enough to steer yourself back!

This Introduce Yourself post is so inspiring, Amber Wagoner. I began writing at 13, so we started writing around the same age. I didn't write scripts then. It was a short story. Excited to hear more about your script as you write it. You have tons of resources on Stage 32 that'll help you write your script and get it into the right hands.

Thank you so much Maurice Vaughan ! 13 is so young isn’t it. Now that I’m older I look back and think to myself “wow, you were dedicated!”!I really truly was, as I’m sure you were as well! Isn’t it fantastic that we have this type of resource (stage32) to just kinda be yourself in and know that there are other artists that can completely relate to you on a number of topics. I think this platform is probably going to be the highlight of my year!! Thank you for all of your support!

Wendy Weising thank you for the feedback. I share my testimony to encourage and give hope to people out there who suffer from ADHD just like me. It’s a diagnosis not something that will stop my pursuit!

Billy Kwack Hi Billy! Umm to be honest I would say RomCom if I were being traditional. I’m a very romantic, lovey type of person and gravitating towards Romance would only be natural, but I’m not normal. I very recently just took on a project that is completely abnormal for me. I am sooo excited about it and can’t wait to jump in!

WOW, so inspiring. Thank you for sharing your story! I just started writing with little stories for music videos of some friends of mine two years ago. Now for a year I have been focusing more on writing films. Working on films can be sometimes tough for me, but I see it just like you: Be strong enough and steer yourself back. Thank you for just reminding myself of it!

Some helpful things for ADHD to try. Of course, consult your doctor. Microdosing psilocybin is the 100% most effective thing for me I had ever tried. Acetyl-L Carnitine. B vitamin supplements. NAC. Bacopa. Also be sure to get all the usual stuff like C/D/E/ Zinc, magnesium. Phenylpiracetam can also be incredibly effective. All potential supplements should be used with care, considering any medications or health issues you may have.
