Have I really been a member of this site for 11 years?! Just now returning to use the site with any real regularity, so I thought I'd stop by and say hello!
I'm a director-turned-cinematographer and screenwriter, originally from Los Angeles, who re-located to Northern Sweden two years ago. I'm a huge horror and genre fan, and quite a bit of my work reflects that, I think. I've been working in and around the industry for 15+ years.
I'll be returning to the states this fall to DP a new feature, the supernatural horror film A GETTYSBURG HAUNTING, with director Gabe Braxton and Wolfshoulder Films.
Looking forward to meeting everyone and hope to be more of a regular here...
Welcome back, Chad Michael Ward. I'm a Horror fan too. And Horror writer. How's Northern Sweden so far?

Great stuff Chad. Is the Gettysburg project a period piece or present day? Love the location.

Hi Chad Michael Ward nice to meet you. Congrats on the feature. How did you find the transition from director to DP?
I'm finding myself working a lot as a DP on other peoples projects, where on my projects my girlfriend is the DP a lot of times. I've always been versatile so its nothing new to me.

Welcome back! What drew you to Sweden? What is it like making films out there?

Hello Maria! I came out to Sweden because my partner accepted a job at the University here. Filmmaking in Sweden is a very different experience, especially up here in the North (most Swedes live in the southern part of the country). Although there are grants available to fund projects, there's not a lot of infrastructure up here but the community is growing, which is a plus.
