I am a screenwriter who decided, partly prompted by suggestions and encouragement here on Stage 32, to Produce and Direct my own short Film. It was an amazing and difficult experience, but I loved it. Luckily, I found some very talented people who were excited about the project and who guided me along the way. Joe Thayer I recently attended a screening of a Sci-Fi film made in Turkey. The director and her producer husband did a Q&A after. They made a feature film for Euro250K, down to having actors and crew taking next to nothing for their work. It was shot in three weeks. Talented, good people who have trust in your project are key to producing an indie film. Networking is the so important and giving back in return, essential.
