Hi, we haven't formally met, but have corresponded as I recently won the Stage 32 Sci-Fi/Fantasy Screenwriting Contest. I am focusing on that project, entitled Time Tourists, and looking forward to my meetings in L.A. in February. From the contest win, I now have an agent interested in repping the project and submitting to U.S. prodcos. We are just finalizing the list. So the contest win has already generated some results and I am looking forward to keeping up the momentum!

Hey there, g'day from New Zealand. I'm a produced TV writer with a long history of working as film/TV crew. I have an LGBT-themed rom-com I'm shopping; has had a lot of great feedback; not sure if I can find a home for it. Exploring holiday rom-coms (doing a Stage 32 course on it). Also interested in political/social issue mini-series & drama. Casting about for where to put my focus next; looking for representation & hoping to be able to say no to production accounting gigs! LOL (Next up: Spartacus...)

I've written a dramedy TV pilot/podcast/book titled THE ADMISSIONS GAME, about the frenzy around elite college admissions. It has a badass female protagonist, a former secretary in the Yale admissions office who launches a private college admissions consulting business. Her superpower is getting any client into the Ivy League by any legal means possible.

Shopping a feature screenplay, which is a contained psychological thriller called 'Blood in the Water'.
It's The Father (2020) meets Memento (2000).
In a claustrophobic apartment, a man plots the financially motivated murder of his bed ridden mother, while struggling to navigate between his hallucinations and actual reality.

I am currently doing another pass on my screenplay Skidmarks. Hoping to have it done by the end of the year. I've been given some excellent notes from Stage 32 consultations. I have one more consultation to get tomorrow with Natalie Goldberg. A few weeks ago, I had a very energetic conversation with Cindy Villareal who was very interested in the script, asked me to email her and keep in contact. She was supposed to give me notes in hope of moving forward with her. Since then, she has ghosted me. Two emails and one text message to her and no response. I plan to produce this movie = just now in final stages of having a movie (my 2nd as producer) completed / it's in final post.

Greetings! I recently completed a short film project in London called The Music Box and I am at present working on a feature film for the BET Network. I have several producers and actors interested in my period piece based upon Frances Burney, an amazing author who was first to publish with a mainstream publisher and thus opened the door for female writers such as Jane Austen (can you tell that Frances is my hero?). I wish everyone great success and I am grateful to be part of this community. Slainte! Jim

I tend to swing for the fences—
Global warming.
Animal dignity.
LGBTQ+ rom-com.
But, I also write more traditional items— car action, story based on true events (I have the life writes), military action , etc.
All 11 of my features and pilots have made the quarters, semis, or finals at various contest, including Nichols, PAGE Int., Austin FF, Fade-In.

An hour very well spent. Fist to hear Eric's enthusiasm AND the trail of "pass" tears. And then to hear about the paths that my fellow writers are traveling. I'd love to stay in touch, but it's hard. Maybe the New Yorkers can meet up. I saw another person from Brooklyn (Steve). I know we can find a place to meet. Anyone else? Hearing T.D.'s story was a lesson - you have to have something someone can sell now. Regards to all, and thanks again Amanda and Emily.

You're so welcome Carole Ryavec - if you wanted to take the lead to plan a Stage 32 meetup in New York City we can help you out with sending out an invitation to the creatives in our community there. All you do is pick a place (usually a bar) where the group can go, post it in our meetups section and then everyone can meetup there: https://www.stage32.com/meetups
Whoa. Thanks DT. I was born and raised in Philly and didn't know about it. Though I was not a big movie fan until later in life. Thanks so much for this lead.
