Remakes can be hit or miss but James Wan is so brilliant and this is a truly classic title. What classic monster movies would you like to see remade with a modern lens? https://deadline.com/2024/08/james-wan-creature-from-the-black-lagoon-mo...

James Wan is one of my favorite directors, Sam Sokolow. I'm looking forward to seeing The Creature From The Black Lagoon! I'm sure James Wan will make an incredible movie. And I'm looking forward to seeing Wolf Man! Leigh Whannell is directing it.

I honestly would really only be interested in seeing classic monster movies remade if they are made by directors with a notorious visual style (wan falls into this category so I am excited about this). I want to see...
Frankenstein directed by David Fincher
Dracula directed by Tarsemm Singh
And just for Gits and Shiggles - The Mummy directed by Wes Anderson (come one - that would be hilarious)

Tom Lapke Wes Anderson's The Mummy? Can you really wrap Owen Wilson up like that?

If any indie horror producers want to bank on this news, my script DEEP END is essentially a single(ish)-location CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON set in a gymnasium pool.

Why do they have to remake every film?

Renee Lohoue it spares development time and therefore costs. you can simply copy ideas, plots, characters, arenas etc.

Read this earlier today, Sam Sokolow. I think he'll do it justice.

Just keep making redos. play it safe for filmmakers and executives. Who is foolish to develop original new stories & characters and risk losing your job?
