August PR Poll: What do you want to know about indie filmmaking PR from an expert, independent publicist?

I'm taking a poll because I want to help and empower independent filmmakers with their publicity, either for a future Stage 32 blog post or in general. So, if you'd be so kind as to share which interests you most in the comments, Feel free to choose more than one and tell me why!

1. Press Releases: Why don't they usually work?

2. Press Kits: What am I doing wrong?

3. When is the right time to start working with a publicist?

4: How can a publicist help my film get into festivals?

5. My PR budget is less than $5000, what tips do you have?

6. Something else?

Let me know in comments!

Hi, Tamaryn Tobian. 1 and 2 because I don't know a lot about press releases and press kits (I only hear about press releases and press kits here and there), and I think filmmakers/other creatives on here would benefit from those topics.

Hi Tamaryn Tobian. Thanks for this. The last time I used a publicist for a project, they were worth their weight in gold. For those who have never used one, can you define what it is you do for your clients and what the value add is?
