Hi all! I hope you're having a beautiful Sunday. Today is my first day back to writing everyday since my wedding, which had taken over all of my free time. Getting back into the swing of things can be difficult for me so I'm looking for any advice you all may have!
I've heard having a ritual around your writing can help, so I'm also curious if anyone has one they can share.
Thank you all in advance!

Congratulations on getting married, Agatha Scott! I mainly write early in the morning, noon, and the afternoon. Something I get a lot of writing done, but sometimes I only get one or two pages done. Those one or two pages add up over time though. And sometimes I write random scenes to get into the writing flow, especially on days when it's hard to write.

For me I made have a chart for the year on the wall. Every week I just mark the number of pages I produce. Some weeks I'll do 30, last week I did 2, but looking at it helps keep me motivated.

I outline the story then I commit to writing seven pages a day. I delete the last lines on the page to leave the story hanging. The next day, I read the last pages written, to tune back into the story and get going. Good luck!

Alot of writers benefit from a ritual Agatha Scott! Some just write when the mood strikes, but if you're having difficulty getting back into the groove then I think some organization and structure woule help!

I'm a big fan of the pomodoro method. Write for 25 minutes, take 5 off, works 50% of the time!

Hi Ags! Congratulations on your wedding! Getting back into writing can be tough, but creating a ritual sounds like a lovely idea. I find that setting a specific time each day and making a cozy space helps me focus. Maybe try lighting a candle or having a warm drink to signal it’s time to write!

Welcome back, and congrats on your wedding! Creating a ritual can help you ease back into writing mode; small, consistent steps can make all the difference!
