SYNOPSIS:
The Mortal Report is a standalone horror-comedy anthology in the tradition of Cat’s Eye and Trilogy of Terror, shot under the pretense of a student film project that quickly derails. In “Demonology 101,” a guerrilla film crew accidentally summons a demon while filming a fake exorcism short—only to discover he’s more pathetic than dangerous... until he isn’t. In “Parallel,” a wannabe supervillain is bitten by a diseased rat and begins mutating into something monstrous while ranting about Joker mythology, toxic fandom, and the death of identity. And in “Cameo,” a lonely filmmaker tries to recreate the perfect dinner party from a script, hiring actors to play his long-lost friends, until the line between performance and possession collapses completely. Connected by a cryptic narrator, VHS fuzz, and a disintegrating script draft, the trilogy hints at a deeper sickness behind the screen—one that’s bleeding into real life.
