SYNOPSIS:
Thea, Marsha, Sebastian, Alma and Nataniel are five deaf teenagers living in a small remote village in
the mountains. They've known each other since kindergarten, but growing up turns them into people
who don't have much in common. Life was about to make them go their separate ways, but suddenly
a high-frequency sound is reproduced all over the planet, turning those who hear it into unstoppable
killers.
In their struggle for survival, the five teenagers find Aki, a 7-year-old girl who's fallen asleep listening
to music. The five manage to make her understand that she cannot take off her headphones and save
her life. It's now their responsibility to protect her from the end of the world and teach her what it's
like to live without sound.
Faced with the possibility of stopping “The Hum” and save the world, the five meet other survivors,
each with their own agenda. Some are willing to help them, but others prefer to let the apocalypse
run its course, to rebuild the world from their darker, more violent perspective.
