In an attempt to set apart some money to pursue his new career path, a young punk-turned-writer gets into forest-related labor across America and witnesses the often-ignored realities of how forests are made and destroyed as he deals with moral, ecological, and social conflicts.
SYNOPSIS:
Justin, 27 prepares this winter to hit his personal goal of planting his millionth tree and exiting 10 year period of freight trains hoping and hard labor of a seasonal tree planter. But to accumulate missing funds to safely fetch into full-time writing he needs to find work for the whole year. And after the season of planting forests in the South, he goes to fight wildfires in the American West and sell Christmas trees in New York City. During one full year Justin follows the trees through each stage of their life and death taking us into the unseen complex ecological circuit, as we root for the man who acquires new skills and faces challenges thrown at him by nature and society and overcoming his physical and psychological limits in the hope to reset his life.
