A skilled but arrogant psychologist with a scarred history of his own is gifted a ring which he believes will allow him to travel back in time once within in his own lifetime. His struggle for how best to use it is further complicated when he becomes romantically involved with one of his emotionally troubled clients, and eventually realizes that the truest test of love is that in a choice to give it up.
