Haunted by terrifying nightmares after her heart transplant, high school student Jane partners with her best friend to find out the truth of how her donor died, only to be ensnared by the same people that murdered her donor.

SYNOPSIS:

Heart patient and teen, JANE is thrilled when she finally gets a donor and receives a much needed new heart. Her life can start again, no longer restricted by her ailing health. But that joy quickly turns to dark fear when her nights are plagued with recurring nightmares of being kidnapped and brutally murdered. Jane slowly transitions from being a sweet, innocent, overprotected girl to a sleep deprived, surly teenager with questions. All of the adults in her life try to convince her that what she’s experiencing is a normal part of the anti-rejection medications and stress. But her intuition says otherwise. When she confides in her best friend CLARISSA that she’s scared and doesn’t feel like herself, Clarissa is quick to support her. Clarissa, a self-proclaimed Nancy Drew nerd convinces Jane they need to find out who her donor was and what happened to her.

Their search leads them to a nearby town a few hours away, and to LINDSAY’S (Jane’s donor) boyfriend, ALEX. The chemistry between Jane and Alex is palpable. She seems so familiar to him… Alex tells them Lindsay’s death was reported as a freak accident, but he suspects there’s more to the story. He joins Clarissa and Jane on their hunt for the truth. Unfortunately, truth is stranger than fiction and extremely dangerous. They stumble on an old farmhouse in the back woods, lead by Jane’s enigmatic “memories” and “feelings” guiding her where to go. A religious couple and their ten children inhabit the house. But the root cellar is what keeps calling to Jane. She “knows” this place. They discover a kidnapped teenage girl is being held there. Jane recognizes her instantly from her nightmares. They figure out that Lindsay was murdered for finding and trying to set her free. Now, Jane, Clarissa and Alex have to finish what Lindsay started. It’s what her heart wants… demands!

While attempting to free the girl from the root cellar, Jane is captured and locked up with the girl. Alex and Clarissa manage to get them out, but the four of them are forced to escape into the woods. The killer hunts them down like wild prey and captures them just before they can make it to freedom. The four teens must rely on each other to survive. They manage to break free and unintentionally cause the death of the man who captured them. And when Jane is confronted with his very angry, vengeful wife - she draws on the courage and strength of her new heart to stand up and fight. Good overcomes evil.
