Moon Cannon Pictures “Black Figs” Casting Call Moon Cannon Pictures is excited to announce an open casting call for the upcoming dramatic short film “Black Figs” to be directed by Scott Brendan Cassidy. All submissions will be considered and a final 2-3 for each role will receive call-backs to schedule a live audition. These are non-union roles and will be paid very little; however, a sizable budget has been spent on high end equipment which means the footage and experienced gained from this production will be invaluable. All interested performers are encouraged to apply – no film acting experience is required (although acting experience and/or training will probably help your chances). All submissions must include a headshot and an acting resume. ROLES: Esther Greenwood – Lead; female; 20-22 A beautiful young woman; but, Esther’s face reveals a strain beyond her years. She seems lonely and tired and sad, but with a hidden strength and confidence; hidden perhaps even from herself. Mr. Pfeiffer – Co-star; male; 48-55 A middle aged man, Will Pfeiffer is a level headed, calm person; a natural father. He gives himself fully to support his family, at times at the expense of his own health and happiness. Mary Pfeiffer – Co-star; female; 45-50 Younger looking than her age would suggest, Mary Pfeiffer is barely holding herself together. An air of sadness follows her like a shadow. Her best coping mechanism is denial. Young Esther –speaking part; female; 10 Esther is a shy, timid, young girl. Liz – speaking part; female; 10 Liz is Young Esther’s best friend. She is confident and adventurous and fearless. Submissions must be a ~3 minute dramatic monologue and must be accessible for free (i.e. YouTube, Vimeo, any other video service that can be accessed for free viewing). Video audition files (or links) must be sent to scott@mooncannonpictures.com before 11am EST on Thursday October 23rd. Call-backs will be immediate and final auditions, with sides from the script, will be held on Saturday October 25th (time TBD). Shooting for the film will take place in November in central Indiana; working around everyone’s schedule. No transportation or lodging will be provided, so must be local. Shooting will require two or three 8-12 hour days. Shooting for Young Esther and Liz will be one 6 hour day. A parent or legal guardian must be present for the live audition and shooting day for Young Esther and Liz. Those roles will be unpaid.
