Together with the boy’s brother, she gets entangled in a series of strange events involving killer clowns, strange cults, and a rich philanthropist who lives in the manor. But she is faced with many challenges, such as the currupt detective in charge of the investigation who beleives her companion is the prime suspect and ignores her suggestion that the Lord of the Manor is guilty, deeming her just an annoying American tourist who just wants the LotM to be put in jail because she personally doesn’t like him. The LotM’s potential involvement in the dissappearence aren’t the only problem, as he was an old academic rival of her father’s at Harvard, and might responsible for his disappearance as well. In the end, the main character sucessfully finds her father and solves the mystery of the missing children.
