SYNOPSIS:
After widower Grandpa Andy a passes away, his granddaughter Marilee on summer break from college is designated sole heir and becomes the designated “stuckee” of her dysfunctional family. She flies cross-country to spread Andy’s cremated ashes at ten locations near Boron, California, and to clean out the trailer Andy lived in alone for the past 7 years since his wife died. Marilee finds hundreds of sticky notes plastered all over in Andy’s trailer. The sticky notes help Marilee and neighbor Tami discover tips to hone in on locations to spread Andy’s ashes. They take day trips for that purpose, going to parks, churches, highways, a golf course, and eating establishments at Rosamond, Lancaster, and Edwards Air Force Base. They grow close, especially at the next-to-last place, a cemetery where Marilee and Tami discover that Andy is grandpa to both of them. The final location, a bookstore, reveals that Andy adapted stories he told Marilee as a youth into a best-selling, young-adult book that made Andy over a million dollars, all willed to Marilee.
