A soldier stands against a group of terrorists attempting to steal charity money from a tree lightening.
SYNOPSIS:
LIBERTY’S TREE
James Matthews is a former Green Beret who is tasked with security for the Lighting of the National Tree, where the President will be giving a speech and speeches from several VIP’s, including money to be donated to local charities.
During the festivities, a group of anti-government terrorists led by Clay Banks seek to steal the money, to fund their operations and take the family members of the people taking care of the money to ensure they will send the money to their private accounts. While on the lookout James sees some suspicious activity and investigates and is nearly killed and forcing him to kill the assailant he tries to report it, but the evidence is cleaned up, and their superior Perry Kelburn tells him to go home but he secretly stays to investigate, and after taking out more criminals he finds a few bombs many of his co-workers believe him and help him.
James’s partner Alec Tully discovers Kelburn’s connection to Banks and realizes they are working together and Kelburn is a traitor and is killed but when Kelburn tries to calm the situation he slips up, and James realizes his betrayal.
They fight and Kelburn is killed by one of James’s fellow security Brian Davis and they find out who Clay Banks is. James soon locates Banks in the money room where the donated money will be divided and transported or donated. Banks tries to flee and plans to blow up the ceremony, but James finds him and stops him and the two fight, and James gains the upper hand and kills Banks, and the rest of his men are arrested and whatever money was stolen is returned, and James is promoted and returns home to his wife Kathy.
