Remember horror telefilms like The Haunted (1991), The Uninvited (1996), I am hoping this can be a homage to those and based on true stories, with names and details changed to protect those involved. I want this to be inspired by the true story of a haunted house where a serial killer lived and connected to The Uninvited as a horror film anthology series. 

SYNOPSIS:

TALE OF TERROR

The police are about to raid the home of businessman Silas Burger thanks to his soon to be ex wife Wanda due to his erratic behavior. They find he committed suicide and discover evidence linking him to several unsolved murders exposing him as a serial killer.

Years later the Hammond family Carl, Jean, Dave, Kate, and Sara seeking a new house end up buying a new house which is later identified as the Burger House which once belonged to Silas Burger. Upon moving in, they see a man walking on the property and when Carl goes after him, he disappears, then Sara sees what looks like an apparition in her room. Kate and Sara soon see a man walking through the halls and follows, Dave later invites his girlfriend Lynn Santos over for a swim and then he is attacked in the pool, and he and Lynn see someone standing in the doorway. They later learn that local legend says the house is haunted by Berger’s victims.

Carl and Jean begin to see people walking around the house at night who disappear and begin to suspect the house is haunted after all, Dave and Lynn find out they can record communication from spirits on their phones and try it that night. The only message they get is the married one, while Carl and Jean learn from paranormal investigator Will Blatty that there is one malevolent spirit on the land and meet with retired police officer Henry Morgan who led the original investigation revealed that Burger had a troubled past, and those who survived linked him to the murders. But when they tried to investigate he, his wife Wanda and lawyers halted the investigation then a year later Burger became more erratic, abusive and his business began to fail. Wanda finally consented to an investigation suspecting him of being a killer and found more than enough evidence to arrest him only to find he committed suicide.

Dave and Lynn and Kate and Sara try to figure out who the married one is, and Lynn and Dave realize that Burger was married and committed suicide and suspect it’s him. Calling his parents they realize Burger is still there and is the entity. That night as the family prepares to leave Burger possesses Dave and goes after Lynn, who manages to get through to Dave and finally banishes him. The family leave the house, but have it cleansed first.
